moving forward

August 30, 2009

I’ve been down… I’ve been flat… it happens every winter. I think I go into a form of hibernation and when Spring gets closer I start to emerge and feel all disoriented and unsure about where I’m going next. I know it happens to me but I fall into the trap almost every year.

So this year I retreated as usual, not interested in anything, kept to my own small circle of family, wondered where I was going in life, longed for some time to myself to figure it out… then Spring started to emerge and I woke up.

We’ve had an extraordinarily period of hot weather here, Spring has sprung early and everything is waking up from the slumber of a cool winter. So I do a bit of thinking and suddenly get a spurt of motivation and positive thinking.

Voila! Suddenly I’m alive and amazing I get not one but two great professional offers this week!  Two great things happened which will move my business forward in a positve way. I’m looking for a new direction and I’m a bit lost but I’m now convinced that some of the ideas I’ve had are going to be wonderfully productive. I’ve been subtly pushed to move on some ideas that I’ve had sitting in my mind for a while, I’ve been shoved into a new direction and I’m feeling awesome about it!  Thank you God, thank you universe, thank you to the powers that make these things happen. I do believe that things happen for a reason and I know that I’m being led in a particular direction and that it will be good for me and my business.

Onwards and upwards!

I’m all a Twitter

March 20, 2009

My professional network has been doing a lot of talking about Twitter. I’ve decided to investigate it and so have joined up and selected a few people to follow and see how it works – nothing worse than launching into something professionally when you have no idea how it works!

I think it may work better for me than Facebook. I really can’t get into FB, it’s just not my thing really. I might have better luck doing it professionally but I do find it hard to get motivated when I’m not really into it.

Hmm, so this is pretty much a post about nothing. Have been neglecting the blog in recent weeks (for obvious reasons if you’ve read the previous post) so am trying to get back into the routine of blogging again.

Check your spelling!

November 16, 2008

Oh FFS!  I have just had the dubious honour of commenting on a website for a colleague.  It was riddled with spelling and grammatical errors!  Are you kidding me? It is supposed to be a professional website and you want people to hire you when you can’t spell or construct a sentence?  Wow!

So then I was faced with the dilemma of giving negative feedback, never an easy thing to do but hey it’s much easier by email than face-to-face PMSL!

I sent her an email, hopefully she’ll see it as the constructive critism it was meant to be and not as a bitchy, picky colleague trying to make her look bad. Well hey, I did send it to her personally instead of to the whole network – that was nice, right?!

Disclaimer: if there are any typos or grammatical errors in this post, I don’t really give a flying sexual intercourse… get over it, this isn’t a professional blog!
